The British Grand Prix is a race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship. It is currently held at the Silverstone Circuit near the village of Silverstone.
This event takes a lot of planning as there are over 320,000 people attending over the course of the weekend. Planning starts nine months or more earlier than the event. As there are a vast amount of areas to be covered requiring different standards of equipment we use our whole range here plus cross hiring a vast amount from other companies to complement our own. In some of the car parks we use single toilet units and then in high volume public areas we use our larger 4 + 2 toilet units. Then there’s the back stage area and the Heli-ports that require luxury 3 + 1 trailers.
We also provide six local campsites for this event too. For these we supply shower units, single toilets, trailer toilets, urinal units, accessible units, waste tanks.
We start positioning equipment from 3 weeks before in some areas although the vast majority are put in place in the week leading up to the event. We keep in close contact with the organisers and let them know when things are put in place and in turn we get a call letting us know when their electric and water has been connected so that we can open up. We take on extra staff for this to keep the event running smoothly.
We control the majority of the wet waste management on site. To do this we hire in 2 x 3000 gallon tankers with men and have them on site the whole weekend and for the clear up on the Monday.
This event is a huge team effort and we all pull together to make it happen.
