What is a luxury toilet trailer?

Here, we look at what luxury toilet hire is, and the difference between luxury toilets and standard portable toilets, to help you decide which you need.

At JB Event Facilities, we have over 30 years’ experience in the supply of luxury toilets and portable toilets to the events industry. But do you know the difference, and what each type has to offer your next event? Read on to find out!

For many people, a portable toilet is a “Portaloo” but this is in fact a brand name that is used in the same way that Hoover is used for a vacuum cleaner! This standard plastic loo is often seen on building sites and is associated with music festivals in muddy fields. At JB Events, our plastic loos can be found in our range of standard portable toilets. By comparison, a luxury toilet trailer is something completely different - still a toilet facility that can be transported wherever it is needed, but that’s where the similarity ends. Let’s look at each a bit more closely:

What are standard portable toilet units?

These are simple plastic units that consist of a single use stall with one toilet. Offering basic, but adequate, facilities our single event toilet has a flushing system operated by means of a hygienic foot pump. Each toilet unit is equipped with a hand sanitising gel dispenser plus a mirror, and are designed for one occupant at a time. Single event toilets are purely functional, offering a no-frills facility, ideal for site hire.

Benefits of a standard portable toilet

•    A great cost-effective option where budget is a consideration

•    Ideal for venues where space is limited

•    Perfect for hiring in multiples

•    No mains water or electricity are required so these are a useful option for more remote locations

What are luxury toilet trailers?

A luxury toilet trailer is, as the name implies, a mobile bathroom on a single- or a double-axle trailer. These units feature multiple private, lockable cubicles plus well-equipped communal vanity spaces. Internally, the facilities offered are on a par with a luxury, permanent bathrooms while the exteriors are finished in polished white for an upmarket aesthetic.

Benefits of a luxury toilet trailer

•    Multi stall trailers feature separate facilities for men and women

•    Hot and cold running water

•    Traditional flushing or vacuum toilets

•    Spacious vanity areas with well-lit mirrors and quality hardware

•    Fully stocked with high-end toiletries

•    Ceramic basins and toilets

•    Heaters

•    Wood effect flooring

Luxury vacuum toilets

As part of our range of luxury toilets for hire, we also supply portable vacuum toilets, offering the same high end interiors and facilities, but utilising the very latest vacuum technology. Water saving and chemical-free, these are an ideal solution for the environmentally-conscious event organiser. These are available as vacuum male pods, vacuum female pods, vacuum urinal pods, and an accessible vacuum pod

Which portable toilets to choose?

With such a wide choice of portable toilets for hire, how does today’s event organiser decide which is best for their event? We would always recommend that you think like your users! Workers on a building site, for example, may need nothing more than a basic convenience stall, while guests at a high end wedding deserve the kind of indulgence and glamour that only a luxury toilet trailer can provide. Similarly, the large amount of foot traffic seen at large scale events such as sporting fixtures and festivals, will benefit from the fast moving vacuum pods that are great queue busters.
