Things to consider when hiring a portable toilet

For anyone hiring portable toilets for the first time, there are lots of things to consider. Our latest guide runs through everything you need to know to deliver a successful event.

When you are coordinating a public event and need luxury toilet hire it can be daunting ensuring you have covered all your bases. Our experience has shown us the most important considerations for our customers so we have put together this helpful guide to read along with our FAQs.

How many toilets do I need?

Without doubt, the most frequently asked question we get is how many portable toilet do I need? Organisers need to factor in expected numbers, type of event, hire duration, whether there will be refreshments, and even the gender split! But don’t worry, each of our luxury toilet unit descriptions has details of maximum capacity and our sales team can advise you further if required.

What does my site need?

Many organisers want to make sure they have everything in place before the units arrive but are not always sure what that should look like. All we need is sufficient access for our delivery vehicles and firm, flat, even ground on which to install the units. Our staff can advise you of the dimensions of each unit so you can ensure there is adequate space and height clearance. All units need a domestic electricity supply but we can put you in touch with recommended generator suppliers where this isn’t possible. No mains water supply is necessary. Where units are being delivered to grassed areas, we have details of Trackway companies so there is no need to worry about tyre marks or damage.

What if I forget the toilet roll or soap?

Busy organisers will not have time to monitor the stock levels of consumables in each unit, and they may not have sufficient staff to allocate someone to do this. Never fear though, because JB Event Facilities supply all luxury toilet units fully stocked with high end consumables. We can replenish stock where required, during maintenance visits, and we can even arrange for onsite toilet attendants to maintain the units throughout the event.

Out of hours delivery and collection

We understand that the events industry doesn’t keep traditional office hours and you may need your portable toilets delivered or collected at out of hours times. We will work with you and, with plenty of notice, we can deliver to suit your timetable.

When to book portable toilet units

Luxury portable toilet hire needs to be high up on your to-do list as the seasonal nature of the events industry means that we have periods throughout the year where demand is high. As an example, luxury toilets for summer weddings are booked several months in advance. Our advice would always be to call us as soon as you start to consider luxury mobile toilet hire, to ensure you’re not disappointed.

What insurance do I need and what if something goes wrong?

Once we deliver the units to your site, and until we come back to collect them, you are responsible for their safekeeping – any damage to, or theft from the units should be covered by specialist event insurance and we can give you details of how to arrange this. If you do encounter problems with the units at any point during the hire period, you will have 24-hour access to our dedicated support line that is manned by experienced technicians.   

My event is off the beaten track – will you deliver to me?

Our fleet of standard portable toilets and luxury toilet trailers is available to hire in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire.
